DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT
From a young age, documentaries have always fascinated me. While I enjoyed great films like everyone else, it was through documentaries that I felt I was discovering the world.
As a child, I watched the films of Yann Arthus-Bertrand and was struck by the beauty of our planet and the diversity of cultures. Those images opened my eyes and showed me that storytelling could help us better understand the world and the people who inhabit it.
I am drawn to stories that move us, stories of transformation, resilience and human connection. Emotion cannot be fabricated; it must be felt. When it emerges from real lives and real experiences, its impact becomes far more powerful.
When I film, I try to approach the world as an observer. I immerse myself in people’s lives and create space for them to share their stories in their own way.
For me, documentary filmmaking is both a way of learning and a way of preserving memory.
Because stories do more than document reality, they help us understand each other.
